Clarissa Maskilone Acrylic Artist Singpore

About Me

I’m a creative artist based in Singapore, with roots in Malaysian Borneo. My art centers on presence. I enter each work without a predetermined image and allow forms, fragments and space to reveal themselves through their own rhythm. I build, rest and return, letting the surface hold what feels honest.

Before deepening my practice as a self-taught artist, I worked in advertising. That experience shaped my eye for craft, narrative and human connection, but over time I began seeking a quieter and more grounded way of expressing myself. Art became the space where I could tune inward, listen deeply and meet myself without expectation.

My practice has moved across line drawings, collage and mixed media. The mediums change, but the intention remains the same: to stay present, to meet myself as I am and to let the work unfold in its own time.

I also host art jams — gentle sessions that offer space to pause, reconnect and create without pressure. I’m the host of Art Club Singapore, a light-hearted community meetup supported by Culture Hustle UK for mothers who want to connect through art.

If you’re here to explore, collect or collaborate, welcome.

Artist Statement

My practice is grounded in presence. I begin without a predetermined image and respond to what emerges through form, texture and space. The work moves in cycles of building, dismantling and rest, shifting between clarity and openness until it finds its settling point. Themes of movement, identity shifts and transitions often appear in my work. I see each piece as a record of becoming — holding softness and tension, release and repair. While acrylic is my predominant medium, I also work with pen and ink, collage and fabric. Across mediums and styles, my intention remains constant: to return to myself and make space for what is real.
